It hardly ever rains here in California. When I moved here I was surprised how brown it is. Anything green is because of irrigation unless it’s December.
I spent this morning working on a logo design for a friend and the creative juices kept going – what came of it is the illustration above, walking in the rain in rubber boots. Great thanks to Kyle’s Megabrush pack.
Today I thought – hey wouldn’t it be nice to paint and not be in front of the easel, perhaps on a comfy couch?
I’ve always wanted to try digital painting so I looked into brushes for photoshop.
Kyle’s Brushes are super affordable and amazing. I bought the gouache set for a whole whopping $7. I first heard about them while editing photos for a friend and listening to ArtProGoShow Episode #5. Kyle talks about his illustrations and his custom brushes for Photoshop. I know I’m not the first person to learn about them, but I am probably also not the last. I figure what the heck, I’ll try them.
Lo and behold here is my first shot at digital painting for Reddit Gets Drawn.
It’s a little messy, but it adds character – right?
